Clare Videre is our recommendation among Peec AI alternatives for B2B SaaS teams that want to understand and improve their visibility for buyer questions. Below, we show Clare tracking our SaaS product, Syften, across repeated AI answers, comparing its visibility with competitors, and identifying the pages and discussions associated with those answers.
Peec is a strong option for bundled multi-engine tracking, larger teams, and reporting. OtterlyAI, Rankscale, AthenaHQ, and Profound fit other budgets and requirements. This guide compares all five alternatives, with pricing screenshots, practical limits, and the cost of a sample monitoring program.
Peec AI alternatives at a glance
| Alternative | Choose it for | Monthly pricing reference | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clare Videre | Investigating SaaS buyer questions, source pages, and Reddit opportunities with your own AI agent | $99.95 minimum, issued as usage credits | Completed runs consume credits; one user included |
| OtterlyAI | A small prompt set at a low starting price | Lite: €29, 15 prompts | API and MCP are listed on Standard, at €189 |
| Rankscale | Credit-based monitoring with agency options | Pro: €99, 1,200 credits | Answer capacity depends on engine credit rates |
| AthenaHQ | A broader agent and content platform | Starter: $295, 3,600 credits | API access costs extra; introductory credits are separate |
| Profound | An enterprise monitoring and marketing-agent program | Limited brand Trial, then custom Enterprise | The trial does not allow custom prompts |
For comparison, Peec Starter displayed €85/month for 50 prompts, three models, one project, and unlimited users. Prices here use monthly billing and the currencies displayed in our browser captures; vendors may localize their offers. A tracked prompt, an AI answer, and a vendor credit are different units.
What you get with Peec AI
Peec tracks visibility, sentiment, position, competitors, and sources across AI answers. Its prompt setup includes suggestions, topics, tags, locations, and bulk CSV upload. Higher plans add capabilities such as multi-country coverage, Looker Studio integration, and enterprise API access.
Peec also helps teams act on their findings. Its Actions include supporting data, briefs, task states, completion dates, and an Impact view. Its MCP server connects an AI assistant to project data, source content, and management tools. Both products support investigations and agent access; the decision is which one best supports the work your team needs to do.
1. Clare Videre: best for investigating B2B SaaS buyer questions
Clare is the tool I would choose for a founder or small SaaS marketing team doing the investigation themselves. You choose the buyer questions, collect repeated answers, compare your brand with competitors, and follow the associated pages and discussions. Here is what that looks like with real data.
Verify visibility for a question your buyers ask
For a Reddit monitoring product, “best Reddit monitoring tool for B2B SaaS” is a commercially relevant question. On October 26, Clare’s last-30-days view showed Syften appearing in all 37 recorded answers, tied for the highest mention rate in that sample. Octolens appeared in 33 answers and Brand24 in 27.
Clare makes that result inspectable. The view shows the time period, completed-answer count, brand appearances, and competing products together. You can distinguish a repeated pattern from one favorable answer, then open the stored answers to check how your product is described.
Connect the result to the pages in the research trail
The same view lists associated articles, including Syften’s Reddit monitoring tools guide alongside external comparisons. That gives the team concrete pages to review: our own guide, the alternatives buyers are reading about, and the descriptions of our product in those comparisons.
For a strong buyer question like this, the next step can be to keep an already relevant guide accurate and useful. Check the product capabilities, pricing, screenshots, and comparison criteria against the current product. Continue monitoring the same question to see whether the competitor mix or associated sources change. Clare gives that review a specific question, answer history, and source list to work from.
The sample contains repeated runs across a mixture of engines, rather than a survey of buyers. A mention does not necessarily mean a recommendation, and recorded source URLs can come from provider metadata or links in the answer. These observations do not establish that a particular page or Clare itself caused Syften’s visibility.
See the Reddit discussions appearing in AI answers
Clare also connects recorded Reddit discussions to your monitored answers. Its thread analysis shows citation counts, brand mentions in the conversation, age, and recent activity. That lets you assess a discussion before deciding whether it deserves attention.
For example, the report lists “The Reddit monitoring tools after GummySearch: what each one actually does” with 55 recorded citations and a detected Syften mention in the collected conversation. Its last activity was about a week earlier. That gives us a relevant, active discussion to read and a way to check how the product is represented there.
The right result may be a useful, disclosed contribution, a better understanding of the buyer’s requirements, or a decision to leave the thread alone. A citation count does not justify a promotional reply. This view analyzes discussions appearing in monitored answers; it serves a different purpose from live Reddit keyword alerts. Peec also documents opportunities to earn mentions on third-party sources, including UGC.
Use the same findings with your own AI agent
Clare’s MCP server exposes optimization tasks, stored prompt results, competitor information, and Reddit opportunities. You can give your agent a focused assignment:
Example instruction for your AI agent
Review our visibility for “best Reddit monitoring tool for B2B SaaS.” Summarize the repeated answers, competing brands, and associated pages. Check our Reddit monitoring tools guide for outdated product facts, and propose any justified updates with links to the supporting observations.
The agent can combine Clare with your connected search and repository tools. Use the stored results to focus the review, then consult your product documentation and search data before choosing what to change. The output should identify the page, the fact or comparison to update, and the observations supporting that work.
Stored-data reads do not launch new paid runs. MCP write actions require confirmation when adding prompts or launching runs. The MCP documentation lists the setup and supported tools.
Clare pricing and limits
Clare has a $99.95 monthly minimum before tax, issued in full as usage credits. Monthly credits expire after three months and require an active subscription or trial to use. ChatGPT and Gemini captured-answer runs cost $0.10 each; OpenRouter API runs add model costs and fees. One user is included; each additional accepted team member adds $20/month to the subscription payment, which is issued as usage credits.
There is no fixed cap on manually tracked prompts, and you can choose daily or weekly automatic sampling. The seven-day trial includes $50 in credits, requires a card, and does not charge it during the trial. See the current pricing terms.
For the SaaS operator illustrated here, Clare’s detailed prompt and Reddit investigation makes it our preferred choice. If your purchase depends on native CSV migration, a completed-work ledger, structured geographic targeting, or BI reporting, evaluate those requirements separately. Peec currently documents more of those administrative and reporting capabilities.
Clare Videre vs Peec AI
| Decision | Clare Videre | Peec AI |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer-question setup | Manual and suggested prompts, tags, pausing, repeated sampling | Suggestions, topics, tags, locations, bulk CSV upload |
| Investigating an omission | Prompt-level brand counts, stored answers, associated sources, detailed Reddit thread analysis | Brand and source analytics, source classifications, ranked Actions with supporting details |
| Following up on work | Visibility, source, recovery, and Reddit tasks; website-task snoozing; weekly task summaries | Briefs, manual actions, task states, completion dates, Impact view |
| Agent access | MCP with API-key authentication, reads, and confirmed write actions | MCP with OAuth or tokens, source-content access, project-management tools |
| Reporting | In-product insights, stored answers, MCP data, weekly task emails | CSV exports and Data Studio integration; check plan inclusion |
| Team and usage | One included user; metered runs and additional seats | Unlimited users; bundled prompt and model allowances |
Peec is a sensible choice when those reporting and coordination features are central to the purchase. Clare is our recommendation when the person buying the tool will investigate questions like the Syften example and use the results to improve their site and community presence. A useful trial should produce one finding you can explain and act on.
Compare the cost of your actual monitoring program
Multiply questions by runs, engines, and days before comparing a prompt subscription with usage credits. For example:
| Illustrative workload | Completed answers | Clare calculation |
|---|---|---|
| 20 questions, two ChatGPT runs per day, 30 days | 1,200 | 1,200 × $0.10 = $120 usage |
| 50 questions, three engines, one run per day, 30 days | 4,500 | At least $450 in base charges, plus API model costs and fees where applicable |
| Three accepted team members | Usage depends on runs | $99.95 + 2 × $20 = $139.95 monthly subscription payment, issued as credits |
Peec Starter’s 50 prompts, three models, and daily tracking correspond to 4,500 answers in a 30-day month for its displayed €85 price. That bundle can be substantially cheaper for frequent multi-engine sampling. The platforms’ engine coverage and capture methods differ, so equal answer counts do not mean identical measurements.
Clare lets you allocate sampling to the questions you care about, but flexibility does not imply a lower bill. Its $99.95 minimum funds usage; do not add that amount again to the $120 example. Seat payments also become credits: a three-person team’s $139.95 monthly payment already covers $120 of run usage, before tax and any other charges. Account for taxes, API costs, extra seats, credit expiry, and currency differences when budgeting.
2. OtterlyAI: best for a low-cost, small-prompt start
OtterlyAI’s Lite plan is a credible starting point when 15 prompts are enough. Our browser capture displayed €29/month, with daily tracking and unlimited team members. The included engines listed are ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot; Claude, Google AI Mode, and Gemini are add-ons.
The important step up is Standard: 100 prompts and listed API and MCP allowances, at €189/month in the same currency display. A team needing those connections should budget for Standard rather than treat Lite’s price as the cost of every advertised feature. Choose Lite for an inexpensive first monitoring set; choose Clare when the prompt and thread investigation shown above is the main job.

3. Rankscale: best for credit-based monitoring with agency options
Rankscale is worth evaluating if you want flexible scheduling, execution credits, and a path into client reporting. Its Pro card displayed €99/month for 1,200 credits and up to 4,800 answers. “Up to” matters: engines consume credits at different rates.
Pro lists dashboards and MCP access; Pro+ adds full REST API access, while Growth emphasizes agency and white-label use. The feature table also describes CSV and Sheets exports and schedules from hourly to monthly. Those are useful requirements to compare against Clare’s task and source analysis.
The €99 figure is the displayed Pro package, not a claim that it is Rankscale’s cheapest possible offer. The comparison also includes an annual-only Essentials plan. Confirm its current terms if the smallest package is what you need.

4. AthenaHQ: best for a broader agent and content platform
AthenaHQ combines monitoring with a broader agent and content offering. Starter lists $295/month and 3,600 credits, alongside multiple models, source and competitor insights, integrations, and CSV export. That makes it worth evaluating when those activities belong in the same platform.
The pricing page defines one credit as one AI response. API access and extra credits are paid add-ons to Starter. Essential also offers introductory free credits; that is not an unlimited, permanently free monitoring plan. Ask how any additional agent work is charged before treating the credit allowance as your complete budget.
Choose Clare when selected buyer questions, detailed source investigation, and your existing AI agent are sufficient. Evaluate Athena when you also want its broader content and agent capabilities.

5. Profound: best for an enterprise evaluation
Profound’s current brand buying path is a limited Trial followed by custom Enterprise plans. The trial lists 50 prompts run daily for seven days across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise expands the tracking, engine coverage, usage, and support arrangement.
The trial FAQ says its recommended prompts cannot be customized. If you want to test the exact buyer questions your team already tracks, establish how that evaluation will work before comparing scores. A trial with a different question set cannot provide a direct comparison with your existing report.
Profound belongs on the shortlist for a wider enterprise monitoring and marketing-agent program. For a small SaaS team ready to investigate its own questions immediately, Clare offers the more direct starting point.

How to choose before switching
Use one commercially relevant omission as your evaluation task. Can you find the repeated answers, see the competitors, read the associated sources, and explain a sensible next step? Then compare the cost and reporting requirements for keeping that process running.
- Save your current setup. Keep prompt text, tags, markets, dates, and useful reports. Historical results may not transfer.
- Compare the same question and engine. Account for location and capture-method differences; separate branded prompts from discovery questions.
- Inspect the counts. Three mentions in 34 answers says more than a percentage without its sample size. Check how the answer actually describes the product.
- Produce one justified brief. Connect the observed omission to product truth, an existing or proposed page, and a separate demand signal.
- Record what you change. Keep monitoring with a consistent setup and measure website visits and conversions separately.
For the SaaS team doing this work itself, I recommend trying Clare Videre with a focused set of buyer questions. The prompt-selection guide helps you choose that set, and our AI visibility monitoring guide explains the measurements. Aim to leave the trial with one investigation as specific as the Syften example.
Peec AI alternatives FAQ
Which alternative is cheapest for a small prompt set?
Of the monthly offers compared here, OtterlyAI Lite has the lowest displayed starting price: €29 for 15 prompts. That does not include every feature or engine available on higher plans.
Is Clare Videre cheaper than Peec AI?
Not necessarily. Clare charges for completed runs and additional users, while Peec bundles prompts and models with unlimited users. Peec’s €85 Starter bundle can be cheaper for daily multi-engine monitoring. Compare the workload examples above with Clare’s $99.95 credit minimum and current run costs.
Can I use an AI assistant with Clare or Peec?
Both document MCP integrations. Clare lets your agent read tasks, stored results, competitor information, and Reddit opportunities, then combine them with other connected tools. Adding prompts or launching runs requires confirmation.
Can I import my Peec history into Clare?
Plan for manual prompt setup rather than a native Peec CSV importer. Do not assume historical answers, geographic settings, or source history transfer. Save the reports you need before leaving your existing tool.
Does a higher AI mention rate mean more traffic?
A mention rate measures appearances in the selected answers, not visits or sales. The example here measures appearances for one selected buyer question; it does not demonstrate a traffic increase. Use site analytics, Search Console, and conversions to evaluate business outcomes separately.
